People spending more time on their mobile devices than ever before.  It is projected that by 2012, the mobile internet will overtake desktop internet usage. This is not surprising considering people spend almost 3 hours on average just socializing on their mobile devices.

One stat that should be of interest to you all local business owners, is the fact that half of all local searches are done on a mobile device. This is why all site on the internet should be mobile optimize for mobile visitors.

This means that you can instantly reach your customers with news, offers, coupons and other promotions and know that they will receive your offers and respond.

For example, if you are the owner of a restaurant and let’s say Wednesday is usually slow. You can instantly send out a text message offering a 2 for 1 special to your customers to get them to your business. The possibilities are endless and are limited only by your imagination.

As a recap, mobile marketing involves having a mobile friendly website, a smart SMS strategy using promotional codes and enabling customers to purchase via their mobile devices.
